Carol A. Laughbaum has over twenty years' experience representing plaintiffs in employment and other civil rights matters, both pre-litigation and in all aspects of litigation at the trial and appellate court levels, including briefing and arguing cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals. Her dedication to her clients, who often face a seemingly David v. Goliath challenge in the courts, is unsurpassed. Recently, Carol convinced the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit to reverse the trial court's dismissal of a retaliation case brought by her client against a Fortune 500 Company, paving the way for a significant settlement.

Carol is a contributing author to Employment Litigation in Michigan, Michigan Causes of Action Formbook, and Advising the Older Client (all published by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education), has authored numerous articles and amicus briefs on issues of importance to the employment bar, and has been frequently interviewed and quoted in the press regarding her cases.

Carol, a proud "Yooper" hailing from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School. She enjoys traveling, music, interior decorating, and binge TV watching. She and her family reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
