Biography

Carol A. Laughbaum, nominated by her peers and selected as a Michigan Super Lawyer, has over twenty-five years’ experience successfully representing plaintiffs in employment and other civil rights matters, both pre-litigation and in all aspects of litigation at the trial and appellate court levels, including briefing and arguing cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals. Her dedication to her clients, who often face a seemingly David v. Goliath challenge in the courts, is unsurpassed.

Carol has obtained many high six, seven and eight figure settlements and verdicts , including a $16.8 million dollar federal court jury verdict on behalf of her client against Ford Motor Company.

Carol is a contributing author to Employment Litigation in Michigan, Michigan Causes of Action Formbook, and Advising the Older Client (all published by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education), has authored numerous articles and amicus briefs on issues of importance to the employment bar, and has been frequently interviewed and quoted in the press regarding her cases.

Carol, a proud "Yooper" hailing from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School. She and her family reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
